The Global Campaign That Reminded Us of The Power of Knowing “No.”

In the wake of the Brock Turner rape case, we recognized a need to help eliminate the confusion around sexual consent. We had no budget, but we had a voice. And as a creative agency, we had the tools to create something powerful.

We created, a simple website that quizzes viewers on different scenarios, where the answer is always NO. To drive people to the site, we staged provocative “installations” of people seemingly passed out on beds in high-traffic urban and college locations with the sign, “If I can’t say no, I can’t say yes.” Its potency and power gave the program a life far beyond what we could’ve imagined. We’re proud to say KnowNo was featured in global press and installations were adopted by universities around the country as a powerful reminder of what “no” really means.
